The market is open for ordering.

Happy Friday morning!
What a beautiful week we have had. I do hope everyone could enjoy some Vitamin D therapy. My spring seeds came in and I put away the seed catalogs as I get a little overeager on my planting abilities. Thankfully, we have Georgia Farm to Table to offer us boxes of locally grown vegetables. Our market farmers are geared up starting seeds and preparing for spring planting. Please remember them, the work they do is not easy, requires more attention than a 9-5 job, they work outdoors rain or shine and they do it for the love of food, people and the earth.

The market, don’t forget to place your orders for Elderberry Syrup, the wonder tonic. You should be taking a small amount daily to enhance your immune system and an increased amount if you are fighting off sickness. It will be available for pick-up the first week of February.

February 7th is the Cultured and Fermented Vegetable class/feast. Marty has around 12 items he is working on and he is excited about all of them. I cannot wait to learn how to ferment foods. They say gut health is the most important factor in our overall health and I believe it. If you are not eating fermented foods and drinks, you are missing out on a tremendous health supplement that often does not cost you more than a head of cabbage. We have room for 3 more people if you are interested.

Jars: Please, please, please wash and dry your milk jars before they get here. If they get to Cedar Rock Dairy and are wet or dirty, there will be a $2 charge per jar for them to be washed. They need to be scrbbed with a brush to get the cream lines out of them and a capful of hydrogen peroxcide added to hot soapy water to soak them helps clean them. Rinse well and air dry.

Go out and have a great weekend (after you place your orders) and we will see you Wednesday.

Group order from Green Pastures

Hello Everyone~

I am getting ready to place a group order from Green Pastures for cod liver oil, butter oil, etc. You are welcome to join this group order. Go “greenpasture.org” and see what flavors are available or if you prefer liquid or caps, etc.

Once we have orders for 12+ items, the price per 8 oz. bottle drops from $44.00/bottle to $34.00/bottle and there are also discounts on all the other products. I will not place the order until we have enough for the discount and I do require payment (check or cash) up front as most of these orders are in the $800 – $1000 range and I cannot front that kind of money. Shipping is estimated at $1.50/unit (not per order) and if there is any overage I will refund that at pick-up or collect if there is any shipping money due. Email me with you order and I will estimate your sub total and give you my mailing address “bbenson_5328@yahoo.com”

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I would completely understand if you would like to talk to Mary Beth about whether or not you would feel comfortable sending me a check or cash since you don’t know me. She will vouch for me :)

The market closes for ordering at 8:00pm.

Please remember to get your orders in. We have so many wonderful foods and personal care items to choose from.
I want to remind everyone about our upcoming Cultured food and Fermentation class. You will be so blessed by this class. Not only will you learn how to preserve food in traditional and healthful ways, but you will see how easy it is and how to use those foods everyday. Marty Martinez will lead the class and is bringing the following foods for us to taste:
Sauerkraut
Curtido (Salvadoran sauerkraut)

Cauliflower and fresh turmeric with cumin
Cucumbers with tarragon *
*Napa Cabbage kimchi *
*Radish salt water kimchi, also known as dongchimi
– it is a very mild Korean radish kimchi (ferment) that can be made with any kind of radish really.

sauerruben – similar to sauerkraut but made with turnips.

Beet kvass

I also have some *collard greens *that I’ll use too.

Even if you don’t want to make your own, come taste, we always seem to have a small feast at these classes. Go to Events on the Market page to sign up.

We have several selections of lamb this week and more beef.
See you Wednesday.

The market is open for ordering.

I know it is early but I will hit the ground running in the morning so thought I would get a head start with the market.

We have a new order of cheese to come in. I did order extra cheddar since that seems to sell out the quickest. We will have fresh butter Wednesday afternoon most likely but still have a few available until then.

We are blessed to have another source for our lamb. Cedar Rock Dairy provides us with grass fed and finished lamb. They have a lot of organ meat right now if anyone is interested. Lamb and beef hearts, kidneys, tongue, and oxtail. If you are interested in those, let me know. We hope to have a supply of bones delivered next week so ask for them when you come by on Wednesday.

Simply Oh! continues to supply us with her wonderful personal care items. From handmade soaps and shampoos to household cleaners, she keeps it clean and organic.

Good Shepherd Herbals will be delivering Elderberry Syrup in 2 weeks. Please go ahead and pre-order so that she will know how many more to bring. We are so grateful that she continues to supply the market although they have moved.

If you know of someone that would like to join our market as a grower or client, please refer them. We love to grow!

Blessings,
Mary Beth

Ordering ends at 8:00 tonight.

Please place your orders for this week before 8:00 tonight. Pick up is on Wednesday from12-4 at the farm. Some items are available for drop-off this Tuesday in Cumming at Grace Chapel Church of Christ.

Our favorite herbalist has been busy and has a new batch of Elderberry Syrup ready. Good Shepherd Herbals will be delivering the end of January so place your orders now. This syrup is so beneficial when treating many health concerns but is a great maintenance herb also. With all the colds and flu going around, it is a benefit to keep the immune system boosted.

Thank you to all that participated in the Sourdough bread baking class. It was fun and filling and if there are any questions, please ask.

Our next class is February 7th, Fermented and Cultured Vegetables. Many of you tried the Cultured Cashew Spread (taste explosion), now is the time to learn more about culturing and fermenting vegetables for the numerous health benefits and flavor profiles. This class will be taught by our favorite market Chef, Marty Martinez. Your vegetables will taste good, be good for you and you will learn how to use them on a daily basis.

Therefore, may God give you of the dew of heaven, the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine. Gen 27:28 NKJV

Blessings,
Mary Beth

The market is open for ordering.

Good morning,
The on-line market is open for ordering. Being in the depths of winter, you will notice that vegetable selection is limited. Even my garden took a hit this week but will recover when the temperatures climb back up. Egg production definately dropped with the cold snap so please limit egg orders to 2 dozen this week so that we can spread the egg love around.
Georgia Farm to Table continues to bring a nice selection of vegatables to the market and Amestory Farm still has some winter squashes available.
Farm Fresh Foods has been working with fresh grains and gluten free options. We now have 2 sources of gluten free, Farm Fresh Foods and Snack N Joy. They both brought some fantastic treats last week for us to sample that many of you were able to enjoy.
We are blessed to have wonderful artisans and farmers to feed us.
So, happy shopping and see you Wednesday.
Mary Beth

Ordering ends at 8:0pm.

Please get your orders in before the market closes at 8:00 tonight.
If you are attending the Sourdough class on Saturday, you can wait until then to pick up if you want.
Blessings,
Mary Beth

Good morning!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week.

I want to take a moment to welcome the new Farm Members. Enjoy browsing the market and please let me know if you have any questions. You are also welcomed to contact any of the farmers or artisans to inquire about their products or methods. So Welcome and thank you for choosing JNA Farm Market for your local food needs.

Given the holiday yesterday, some of the growers may be later updating their items but there is still plenty of goodness to choose from.
