The market is open for ordering.

Happy Friday morning!
What a beautiful week we have had. I do hope everyone could enjoy some Vitamin D therapy. My spring seeds came in and I put away the seed catalogs as I get a little overeager on my planting abilities. Thankfully, we have Georgia Farm to Table to offer us boxes of locally grown vegetables. Our market farmers are geared up starting seeds and preparing for spring planting. Please remember them, the work they do is not easy, requires more attention than a 9-5 job, they work outdoors rain or shine and they do it for the love of food, people and the earth.

The market, don’t forget to place your orders for Elderberry Syrup, the wonder tonic. You should be taking a small amount daily to enhance your immune system and an increased amount if you are fighting off sickness. It will be available for pick-up the first week of February.

February 7th is the Cultured and Fermented Vegetable class/feast. Marty has around 12 items he is working on and he is excited about all of them. I cannot wait to learn how to ferment foods. They say gut health is the most important factor in our overall health and I believe it. If you are not eating fermented foods and drinks, you are missing out on a tremendous health supplement that often does not cost you more than a head of cabbage. We have room for 3 more people if you are interested.

Jars: Please, please, please wash and dry your milk jars before they get here. If they get to Cedar Rock Dairy and are wet or dirty, there will be a $2 charge per jar for them to be washed. They need to be scrbbed with a brush to get the cream lines out of them and a capful of hydrogen peroxcide added to hot soapy water to soak them helps clean them. Rinse well and air dry.

Go out and have a great weekend (after you place your orders) and we will see you Wednesday.
