A wonderful Memorial Day to you. This is such a special day to stop and think of all the freedom we have and those we have lost in the fight to preserve it. If you have served, thank you, if you have a loved one that serves or has served thank them.

We are so excited to see the market offerings increasing as we add new growers and producers. Please look for the new items under “What’s new”. We have so many delicious vegetables this week. *Georgia Farm to Table *has some add on items for your boxes. Also, Christy wanted me to remind you that you can always exchange items in the box if there is something being offered that week that you don’t normally eat. If you ever have questions about how to cook a certain vegetable, please look under our recipe section or e-mail the grower. They eat more veggies than anyone!

*Cedar Rock Dairy *continues to provide the best pet milk ever… my last jar had a least 3 inches of cream on top. One of our dear customers has 3 Anatolian Shepherds, these are big dogs. She said they stand waiting when she opens the fridge so they can get their share of milk. This is good stuff!

The countdown continues for chicken. Joyful Noise Acres Farm should have some next week, YEA! Stay tuned.

Y’all, have a great day and rest in the blessings of our wonderful nation.

See you Wednesday,
Mary Beth

Good Morning, good morning.
I snuck in a little time on the porch this morning, just to sit and talk to the husband and wake up to this wonderful creation. Hope you can find a moment of quiet today – sometimes we just have to grab it and make it happen, but it is so lovely when it does!

Ok, quiet over, peace remains and we are off…
several of you have mentioned that you didn’t order baked goods from Diabetic Friendly Baking because the quantity was 0 but order anyway. She bakes to order so don’t let that throw you off or stop you from ordering. If she doesn’t have it, she will let you know.
The Almond Flour Pound Cake was incredibly delicious if you are looking for a healthy treat.

*Conscious Cultures *will be adding his products later this morning so be on the lookout. The water kefir and Elderberry kombucha are wonderful. Many of you could not make it out to talk to him but please send him an e-mail if you have any questions. He is a treasure of information.

We are adding two new growers this week and one of them will be here Wednesday from 12-2.* Harvest Table Farm is a mixed vegetable operation run by Meghan Cole. Located in Talking Rock, GA, the farm offers an incredible diversity of vegetables, fruits and herbs, grown without the use of chemical pesticides or herbicides. The other grower is *Harvest Meadows. Nancy Newell specializes in leafy greens and herbs. I have been buying her salad blends for several years and am thrilled to have her on the market. She can grow some lettuce!

We have so many wonderful foods this week so happy shopping and see you Wednesday!
Blessings,
Mary Beth

The JNA Farm Market closes at 8:00pm tonight.

Good morning. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We attended the Ball Ground Heritage Days before the rain sent us home but it was a fun outing to learn more about the history of our little town and community.

We have a big day planned for Wednesday so I hope you can drop by. Justin Michael with Conscious Cultures will be here from 2-4 to let us sample Grape Kefir, cultured vegetables and Elderberry Kombucha. He will also have some kefir available for you to purchase. Bring your questions regarding fermenting and culturing and spend some time with Justin.

The maple syrup is in!!!! If you cannot pick up this Wednesday, please let me know so other arrangements can be made as soon as possible. I just don’t have a lot of space to store it – you have seen my garage.

Georgia Farm to Table has updated the boxes for this week with more of the wonderful vegetables and fruits that are locally sourced. Don’t forget to get your veggie box.

Thank you again for supporting locally grown and crafted foods.

Blessings,
Mary Beth

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

We have another great week of great food ready for all of you. The radishes are coming in, the fresh herbs are prolific and sweet strawberries are gracing our tables. I LOVE fresh food!

I know many of you are gluten free, for various reasons, but can eat corn. Burr Stone Milling Company has wonderful certified organic corn flour, corn meal and grits. An absolutely delicious way to enjoy hot, bread is with Popovers. Take some time to play with this recipe, it really is simple and honestly, even if they don’t popover, they are still amazing – especially loaded with Buttercups Honey Butter Blend. http://www.yummly.com/recipe/external/Corn_-buttermilk-and-chive-popovers-305375

Farm Fresh Foods *brought beautiful radishes to the market last week and has plenty more. I like them grated, sprinkled with dill and White Balsamic Vinegar from *Home Appetit. It makes a delicious condiment for a sandwich or side for *Joyful Noise Acres Farm *pork chops.

With bug season upon us, don’t forget to order Itch Salve from Good Shepherd Herbals. If you have a bug bite, apply a paste of Bentonite clay for 30 minutes to help remove the toxins, then wash and dry the area and apply the itch salve.

We are excited to have Justin coming over on Wednesday to talk about fermented and cultured foods. He will bring samples of water kefir and kombucha. He is passionate about culturing and enjoying the foods that result from caring for the cultures. Justin has been culturing foods for about 3 years so bring your questions.

Have a great weekend and thank you for supporting locally grown foods.

Blessings,
Mary Beth

Market closes at 8:00pm Monday

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms. I am so grateful for all the amazing women that have poured into my life, especially my Mother and Grandmother.
“The joint is jumping” as the saying goes and the market is filling up with all kinds of wonderful goodies now that it is finally warm.
Farm Fresh Foods *is offering fresh herbs, radishes and salad greens this week along with all the wonderful creations from her kitchen.
Welcome back *Amestoy Farm
. Ben has been working so hard planting and now he is harvesting. He has radishes and arugula this week. His is a Certified Naturally Grown farm.
Georgia Farm to Table *offers their wonderful vegetable boxes this week and is offering Organic Blueberries for $3/6oz. container.
Fresh beef is in from *Four Mile Farm
, don’t forget to ask for it if we don’t get it all listed on the market.
The sausage, ribs, chops and Boston Butts are in the freezer from Joyful Noise Acres Farm, crank up the grill and get outside.
Don’t forget to take advantage of the sale on butter from Buttercups Butter Blend. She is offering 5 lbs. at $2.50/lb. This is the creamy, European Style butter she uses to create her amazing blends.
Lastly, many of you missed sampling the Black Bean Brownies from Diabetic Friendly Baking. They were so good, my kids had no idea they were so good for you. Go ahead and order some, they are amazing!
Blessings to all and have a great week. See you Wednesday.

What a beautiful morning we are having. I hope you get to enjoy the day, eat lunch outside, go for a walk, or just stand at the window and gaze out on all the beauty that surrounds you…the joys we get to behold.

*Diabetic Friendly Baking *added a new treat to the market, Black Bean Brownies. Ignore the quantity indicated and add them to the cart as she only makes these to order. She also has a Gluten Free Carrot Cake that looks delicious.

Don’t forget to eat your veggies!*Georgia Farm to Table *makes it easy by filling our boxes with a wonderful variety of vegetables.

I look forward to seeing you this week and we growers are so thankful that you choose locally grown.

Oooh, I’m in trouble…I got so busy this morning, I forgot to open the market for all you early birds. Please forgive me.

So, what’s new? *Farm Fresh Foods *not only makes wonderful dishes for us on the market but she also does catering out of her certified kitchen. If you have an upcoming graduation or other event, you can go to “Prepared Foods”, “Special Order” to let her know you are interested. She will then contact you via e-mail to talk about the details.

Buttercups sent a sample of her Maple Pecan Butter Blend for us to enjoy, I think I have one container left – I am looking for excuses to eat it, it is so tasty. She is also offering her European Style Unsalted Butter for $2.50/lb. Freezes beautifully.

The herbs and greens are coming in at Joyful Noise Acres Farm, be sure to check the extras table to see what is fresh this week. The Swiss Chard leaves are large and easy to fill with meat and vegetables as you would a cabbage leaf (I think they taste better than stuffed cabbage).
Joyful Noise Acres also has fresh pork coming in Monday. Lots of sausage, ground pork and ribs. The ribs are packaged in smaller packages for those that don’t want a full rack.

Strawberries are starting to ripen so hopefully we will have more of them in our boxes from Georgia Farm to Table. They were so good week before last.

Y’all have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday..
Blessings,
Mary Beth Sellars
