Fresh Chicken and Market open.

What a glorious morning! The fog is covering the pasture and the cool air makes us move a little quicker across the pasture but it is a beautiful commute to work. I hope you find the same joy in your surroundings. If not, come visit us early one morning.

Joyful Noise Acres Farm has been burning up the road this week and has the full freezers to prove it. We are fully stocked with chicken and pork and Four Mile Farm brought more ground beef.
We are going to be open this Saturday from 11-3 for those of you that want fresh chicken so come on by the farm.

Farm Fresh Foods delivered an unusual treat this week, Pumpkin Hummus. It was amazing! Fresh pumpkin and warm spices made it so rich. Served with apple slices or graham crackers, no one will know it is a healthy dip, just a delicious one. Order some for your next gathering.

Remember to contact any of our 4 wonderful bakers if you have special holiday requests. They all do custom work and you already know how delightful their foods are.

The greens are starting to pop up their heads so hopefully we will have more greens on the market soon. The carrots are so sweet that it is hard to cook with them when you can eat them raw and fresh. To ensure you don’t run out of garlic, buy extra from our farmers, peel it then place in a jar and cover with olive oil. Put the lid on and refrigerate. You have peeled garlic anytime you need it. I use the infused olive oil for cooking or dressings then add more oil as needed. This also makes a lovely hostess gift.

Don’t forget, Cedar Rock Dairy will buy back your half gallon jars if you are no longer wanting to order milk.

Thank you for supporting locally grown. It really does matter…to the land, the environment, the community, the farmer and the family.

Blessings,
Mary Beth

Important notices.

Please put your orders in as the market closes tonight.

If you are no longer ordering milk, Sam would like to either purchase your jars from you for $3.30 each or return them to you. The storage room is overflowing with jars and many of them are not being used. Please let me know if you want to sell your jars, have them returned to you, or if you plan to resume ordering milk in the near future.

Joyful Noise Acres Farm will have fresh chicken available this Thursday afternoon. We will have plenty of whole birds for those of you that want to get the freezer stocked for the winter. We will have one more processing in November for the remaining chickens and the ducks.

Georgia Farm to Table has beautiful vegetables available again this week along with several extras including lady peas and peanuts.

Blessings,
Mary Beth

Good morning and Happy Fall. The cool weather welcomed my 2nd pot of soup this week. Ham and bean with loads of vegetables just fit our schedule and appetites. A side of fresh tortillas from Farm Fresh Foods set it off perfectly.
Farm Fresh brought corn tortillas and Jackie’s Friendly Baking experimented with wheat tortillas this week on the sample table. They were both delicious and will hopefully be on the market soon. For those that did not stop by, the sample table was brimming with deliciousness! For those that did, what was your favorite? Thank you to those that requested tortillas, we always welcome your suggestions.
Sissy’s Farm Fresh Eggs is out of production right now. The new hens have not started laying but we have found eggs from another source that grows them just like we do. They free range during the day and get a non-GMO feed. We will only have about 12 dozen a week so keep that in mind when you stop by.
Conscious Cultures will restock the market next week. He has been super busy furthering his education and has not had time to make more kefir and kombucha but watch the market for his update.
Snack n Joy is a new vendor that specializes in gluten free baking. She uses a wonderful blend of millet, amaranth and buckwheat to achieve the flour for her pastries. We sampled them Wednesday and everything was wonderful. She will get her products added over the next day or so so watch for her items in the Bakery Section, gluten free.
The farmers have plenty to offer this week and so do the producers of wonderful finished products. The refrigerator has loads of cheese and butter is in the freezer. Meats are plentiful and vegetables are fresh. We hope you can find most of your grocery needs here. Please let us know what you would like added to the market … if you don’t shop local, what is a small farmer to do? So, thank you for supporting locally grown.

Good morning and Happy Fall!

It has officially begun and Amy at Farm Fresh Foods is heralding it’s arrival with 2 incredible soups, lemon chicken orzo and chipotle pumpkin. She also has beautiful containers of fresh pumpkin available that can go right into the freezer for later use or into your favorite recipe.

Our favorite bakers ( all 3 of them) are working overtime I think preparing amazing breads; cupcakes, rolls, sweet bread loafs, brownies. Jackies Friendly Baking, Farm Fresh Foods and Two Daughters Bakery are each so unique and wonderful. Keep them in mind for the holiday season if you have a special request.

We also have fresh cheeses and butter in this week.

Blessings and see you Wednesday.
