Market and Milk - Please read.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and looking forward to a wonderful week. April showers bring May flowers so I will be thankful for the rain.

The market closes at 8:00pm tonight. Please get your orders in so you don’t miss out on all the yummies this week.

MILK Please, please, please do not bring any wet or dirty jars. Hold the jar up to the light and if you see any white streaks, wash it again. It is best to wash them by hand in the sink to get all the cream stains off the inside. *

*Rosemary Knoll *brought fresh Artichoke Pesto by. It is so delicious on pasta, pizza, chicken or pork chops. Plan your menu with a container in mind.

Georgia Farm to Table has lots of great veggies for us this week: Small Box ($15):
*Sweet Savoy Cabbage
*Swiss Chard
*Purple Top Turnip Roots (makes for great mashed potato substitution! See Recipe Below)
*Sweet Potatoes
*Grapefruit
*Kale

Medium Box ($25):
Proportionally more than Small Box, PLUS Cantaloupe and 1lb English Peas in the Hull*

Large Box ($45):
Proportionally more than Medium Box, PLUS Cherry Tomatoes and Shiitake Mushrooms*.

Sissy’s Farm Fresh Eggs has filled the refridgerator so make sure you grab an extra dozen for breakfast, lunch or supper. I have made stuffed eggs twice this week, they are so good.

Buttercups Butter Blends has her new Maple Pecan butter ready for us to sample this week. She also has several cases of butter to sell. This is the rBST free European Style unsalted butter that she uses in her blends. Each case has 30 pounds of butter in individually wrapped blocks. It has about a month shelf life left and should be used or frozen. Usually we sell it for $3.00 a pound. Right now we’re selling it for $2.50 a pound.
Look for it on the market – being offered in 5 lb. increments.

Thanks and have a great week this week.
