Fresh Chicken and Market open.

What a glorious morning! The fog is covering the pasture and the cool air makes us move a little quicker across the pasture but it is a beautiful commute to work. I hope you find the same joy in your surroundings. If not, come visit us early one morning.

Joyful Noise Acres Farm has been burning up the road this week and has the full freezers to prove it. We are fully stocked with chicken and pork and Four Mile Farm brought more ground beef.
We are going to be open this Saturday from 11-3 for those of you that want fresh chicken so come on by the farm.

Farm Fresh Foods delivered an unusual treat this week, Pumpkin Hummus. It was amazing! Fresh pumpkin and warm spices made it so rich. Served with apple slices or graham crackers, no one will know it is a healthy dip, just a delicious one. Order some for your next gathering.

Remember to contact any of our 4 wonderful bakers if you have special holiday requests. They all do custom work and you already know how delightful their foods are.

The greens are starting to pop up their heads so hopefully we will have more greens on the market soon. The carrots are so sweet that it is hard to cook with them when you can eat them raw and fresh. To ensure you don’t run out of garlic, buy extra from our farmers, peel it then place in a jar and cover with olive oil. Put the lid on and refrigerate. You have peeled garlic anytime you need it. I use the infused olive oil for cooking or dressings then add more oil as needed. This also makes a lovely hostess gift.

Don’t forget, Cedar Rock Dairy will buy back your half gallon jars if you are no longer wanting to order milk.

Thank you for supporting locally grown. It really does matter…to the land, the environment, the community, the farmer and the family.

Blessings,
Mary Beth
