The market is open for ordering.

Good morning,
6 more days, just 6 more days. I am so excited about Thanksgiving Day. Today I will finish making the grocery list because the menu is basically set in stone! I hope each of you have a wonderful, gratitude filled week.
We should have fresh corn meal here on Tuesday, I know we have been missing Burr Stone Milling’s meal. Our favorite miller had been under the weather and is now back to full health and catching up on his milling.
We are getting about a dozen eggs a day now so you will start to see more eggs on the market. Yea!
Remember we are opening early on Wednesday, 10:00, so we can get to our holiday preparations.
Blessings to all and thank you for supporting all these local growers.
Mary Beth

The market closes at 8:00 tonight.

Order now so that you don’t forget then come back over here and get comfy as we have several things to tell you.

First, under the Events category, you will see 2 classes have been added, Bone Broths and Stocks and Sourdough Breads. We will be hosting classes once a month to teach you different techniques in the kitchen that will enhance your nutrition and culinary skills. Our first class is December 6 with Marty Martinez teaching us about bone broths and stocks. His background as a cook takes us beyond the nutrition to the wonderful flavors and applications of the stocks and broths. Sign up early as class size is limited.

We have added Gift Certificates to the market also. You can purchase a gift certificate in any amount you choose and the recipient can spend it as they choose on the market. It can even go toward classes.

Thank you for supporting local growers and artisans.
Blessings,
Mary Beth

The on-line market is open for ordering.

Happy frosty Friday!
The pigs were bedded down with bales of hay for added coziness and the lettuces were bedded down with straw in hopes of keeping them from freezing. Hot Chocolate is on the menu around here.
We will be open the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I will open and close early so that you can get your orders and get back home to your preparations. The market hours will be 10-2 for Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year’s weeks.
Eggs, Living Free Farm is providing us with a few dozen eggs each week, Please limit your orders to one dozen. This way we can spread the egg love around. If she has extra on Wednesday, she will bring them and make them available.
Blessings and thank you for supporting locally grown.

Happy frosty Friday! What a glorious sunrise and day we are going to have. I hope you can get some Vitamin D therapy today. Speaking of, I have been going to The Genesis Center *in Cumming for my health care and Dr. Sloan was saying they are predicting this to be a very sick winter for the US. We do not want that bad report or the sicknesses so now is the time to boost your immune system with Vit. D, probiotics, Elderberry syrup, etc. Reduce sugars and eat more veggies. Also, for your supplement needs, Renee Lowe of *Herbal Intentions is a walking encyclopedia of herbs and supplements. Her store stocks only the best supplements that are proven to work. Oh and Cod Liver Oil, have a connection for that too if needed. Didn’t mean to be a commercial but it is so important to stay healthy.

Vegetables, Georgia Farm to Table *is filling the boxes with all kinds of fresh, local and seasonal produce and fruits. Remember you can substitute items if you family just does not like something offered this week. *_Joyful Noise Acres Farm_ has a few greens available this week and more growing. Kale, India Mustard greens and collards are all ready to pick.

The last batch of chickens are processed. Come by Saturday between 11 and 2 for fresh chicken. if you want thighs or wings, you better hurry, we have a very limited amount available until next year so now is the time to stock up. The ducks are ready also and they are beautiful. I will be preparing one tonight, will let you know how it comes out.

We are honored to add _Snack n Joy _to our line-up of wonderful bakers! She has been offering her products for several weeks now and also is selling them in Whole Foods. Snack n Joy grew from a need for quality gluten free foods. The mass produced items are full of fillers and highly processed ingredients that do not provide the nutrition, not to mention they taste bleh. Snack n Joy uses all organic ingredients; millet, amaranth, and buckwheat, to make her beautiful cookies and crackers. They are beautiful, nutritious and delicious. She will have truffles available over the holidays and let me say, they are unlike anything I have tasted, just a wonderful, creamy explosion of flavor that melts in your mouth.

Well, chatty Cathy will sign off now, thanks to each of you for reading this, thank you for supporting your local growers and bakers,
Blessings,
Mary Beth

Good Afternoon!

We are so excited about this week’s offerings. As we are now well into the fall season, we are overwhelmed with the wonderful crops becoming available!! Finally, the first Georgia harvest of broccoli and spinach (YAY!!). Meanwhile, we are wrapping up the season of sweet peppers with beautiful purple, red and green peppers from Granny Matt Farms in Ball Ground. Plus we have incredible arugula offered this week from our wonderful friends, The Hopson’s! More gourmet lettuce from the Givhandy’s in Rydal and winter squash, potatoes, apples and more from Mountain Earth Farms out of Habersham county.

If they offer something in the box your family does not enjoy, please e-mail Christy and ask for her to exchange it for another item. They work hard to make sure you are pleased with your produce.
