The on line market is open for ordering.

I think we have drank more hot chocolate this week than all winter combined! The sledding, playing in the snow and just watching those huge flakes of cottony snow have made this a perfect week.
We are pleased to announce Tranquility Farm will be joining our market. They have been bringing eggs over every week but now they are providing some wonderful baked goods made with freshly milled flours. This week we have Chocolate Chip cookies, Ranger Cookies, Apple Cinnamon Muffins, and Indian Naan Bread. We will have more samples this week at pick-up.
The Fermented Beverages class has been postponed until April. Our children have a piano competition and festival in which they will be performing at 1:00 that day. I did not know about it until after we had scheduled our class. Thank you for your understanding.
A huge thank you to all our vendors that worked so hard to get your foods here before the snow on Wednesday. They make quite an effort to keep us well fed and it is appreciated.
Blessings and see you Wednesday.
Mary Beth

Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts…. just remenber all the bugs that will not be here this summer because of the freezing temps, and all the fruit trees that need cold hours to produce wonderful fruit. I do pray you are all safe and warm. action Church in downtown Canton is a warming shelter if you or anyone you know is in need of a warm place to sleep.

This week we will have 2 new items to sample, they are not listed for sale yet, 390 Bars from Fat Lady Bakery, a complete protein bar using Ezekial grains and a variety of whole wheat cookies from The Pringles. I may have to open an extra milk and brew a pot of coffee for our tasting time.
Honey orders are due also. E-mail me if you need an order form.
Even if you are not ordering, drop by for a visit and see what we are all about.

What a beautiful week we have had! I think I could live without 25 degree mornings but at least we are not in New York or Boston and buried under feet of snow. The hyacinths and buttercups are peeking out and I am eagerly awaiting spring.

Farm Fresh Foods has been busy in the kitchen. She uses as much local produce and fruit as possible when working her wonder in the kitchen. Last week she made spinach pasties, the original portable food, and they were beautiful. Paired with a salad or bowl of soup and dinner is on.

Simply Oh! has several soaps and creams to treat our dry skin this time of year. Sometimes it is just hard to drink enough water making it important to use the highest quality lotions and cleansers on our skin to moisturize and cleanse.

For those working out or just working hard, Good Shepherd Herbals has a wonderful salve, Trauma Balm, that is warming a healing to sore muscles. They also have Itch Salve, Beulah Balm for problem skin and Rash Relief. All these balms are made with organic ingredients with emphasis on the natural healing properties of each herb.

We look forward to seeing you Wednesday and thank you for buying local!

Blessings,
Mary Beth

Saturday, we had a wonderful class on the fermentation of vegetables. We learned so much and ate very well. Thank you to all that attended and especially to Marty Martinez for sharing his vast knowledge. He made something very unfamiliar and seemingly daunting, simple, doable, and delicious. Next month, March 7th, we will be learning about water and milk kefir, kombucha and yogurts. If you want a kombucha scoby, one of our clients has plenty and is willing to share. She will bring it to the market if you let us know ahead of time that you want one.

Have a beautiful week and we will see you Wednesday.

Good morning sunshine! By all reports it is shaping up to be a beautiful weekend. After the Fermented vegetable class on Saturday, I hope to play in the dirt a little in anticipation of spring planting.
Our March class will be Fermented Beverages, we will be learning about milk and water kefir, kombucha, yogurt and Piima making. These are wonderful beverages to include in your daily diet to restore healthy flora to the gut. If you are eating processed foods, and who isn’t to some degree, you need to consume the probiotics fermented foods provide.
Our wonderful farmers and artisans are bringing you the highest quality foods around so have fun shopping, try something new and see you Wednesday.
Blessings,
Mary Beth

Don't forget! Ordering ends at 8:00 tonight.

Don’t forget to place your orders for this week…and don’t forget to finish checking out to get the confirmation that your order was completed.
This is the last week to sign up for the Fermentation class. I was able to try several of the foods Marty will be bringing on Saturday and they were delicious. This class is going to be such a blessing. Please try to come, this is a class on food preservation and health. Two for one.
Take care,
Mary Beth

Good Morning and Happy Friday.
Isn’t it nice to be able to shop from the comfort of your home? I hope you enjoy the offerings this week.
Four Mile Farm is taking 8 lambs to the processor so there will be more lamb offerings on the market, Cedar Rock Dairy currently has ground lamb, organ meats and loin chops available as well as leg of lamb. If you don’t see it listed on the market, e-mail me and we can hopefully, get what you are looking for.
As another holiday approaches, we have a lovely selection of gift ideas from gift certificates to gift boxes to cookie bouquets. Give the gift of clean living to someone you love. (Secret, you don’t have to wait for a holiday)
If you have not tried the Zesty Italian Sausage from Joyful Noise Acres Farm, give it a try. It made a great soup:
1 lb. browned Italian sausage
1 large can diced tomatoes
3 cloves, minced garlic
2 cups cooked garbanzo beans
8 stems and leaves Swiss Chard, chopped
Pepper to taste.
Once the sausage is browned, sauté in the garlic to release the flavor. Add remaining ingredients and let simmer about 15 minutes. Easy and delicious. Add other vegetables as desired.
A new shipment of butter arrived Wednesday. We have unsalted and salted and it is the best yet. Don’t forget to pick up a tub on Wednesday.
Blessings,
Mary Beth
